Emergency electrical FAQ’s
It is important to remain calm in the event of an emergency and check trip switches and report any damaged power lines or equipment. Reach out to a 24 hour emergency electrician as soon as possible before the problem gets worse.
If you experience any problems with your electricity or outlets, no matter the severity it should be fixed to prevent further problems. Some things to look out for are:
Fallen power lines: During storms, fallen power lines happen and the best thing to do is avoid the line and call your electrical provider, your county’s emergency services and a qualified emergency electrician.
Power Outages: A sudden power outage is a sign of a major situation if transformer interference isn’t the problem. Frayed or weak wires in your electrical system might also cause a power loss. Contact your service provider to see whether the problem is with them and if it isn’t, then contact an emergency electrician to avoid an electrical fire.
Noisy Fuse Boxes: A noisy fuse box isn’t a good sign. A circuit breaker protects your fuse box by causing it to “trip” or stop if the electrical current encounters an obstruction or becomes overloaded. This is a safeguarding feature. A breaker box that is overloaded and fails to trip is a shock and fire hazard. If you experience fuse box noises, contact an emergency electrician right away.
Burnt Outlets or Burning Smells: Do not disregard brown stains on your sockets or any burning smell coming from your cables, electrical outlets, walls, or appliances. Any strange odour coming from an outlet should be addressed immediately. Call us today for qualified 24 hour electricians to fix the problem, even out of hours.
